ENHANCED
HIERARCHY
CWorks SQL now includes 3 new levels to the asset hierarchy
called Plant Codes, Dept Codes and Sections. User will now
be able manage and filter data such as assets, locations,
employees and work orders by the above mentioned entities
thus providing a better variety of reports.
MATERIALS
MANAGEMENT
Sub Stores are now included in the Materials Module for
organizations with multiple stores. Store transactions can
now be monitored by individual sub stores or even the entire
department. CWorks SQL also provides the ability to track
stock transfers from different departments and/or different
sub stores. Also included is the feature to track batch
no’s and expiry dates. Called shelf life items, this feature
ensures that only valid parts are issued from the store
and calculates balance of applicable parts by the batch
no.
REPAIRABLE
ITEMS
Transfers of assets can now not only be tracked by departments
but to suppliers and vendors as well. Referred to as Repairable
Items and integrated with the materials module, CWorks SQL
allows users to trace assets that are sent to a vendor or
back to the store for repairs as well as the ability to
classify assets of a similar function so that they can be
rotated between locations and parent assets.
CLIENT SERVER
ARCHITECTURE
CWorks SQL is now using the client server architecture to
enhance the performance of the system. By using the features
of Microsoft SQL Server, IT administrators can now schedule
backups, apply security permissions as well perform database
replication if using multiple instances of the CWorks database.
DATABASE
CWorks SQL installer includes Microsoft SQL Server 2000
Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) which is a free, distributable
version of Microsoft SQL Sever. Please refer to
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/msde/default.mspx for more
information about MSDE 2000 and its limitations.
CWorks SQL can also be installed to run using servers with
Microsoft SQL 2000 Server. Note that the licensing cost
of CWorks SQL does not include any licenses for Microsoft
SQL Server or Client Access Licenses. Licenses for these
should be purchased from your local Microsoft certified
vendor.
